Senior Student Highlight: Wath Rothrena

Wath Rothrena  (Academic Year 2025-2026) – memorable, stressful, tedious

Favorite Quote: ” Time will pass anyway.”

An interesting fact about Rothrena is that she can barely see out of her right eye. She is naturally left-handed but was taught to write with her right hand, which has made her mostly ambidextrous. She also studied French for eight years and only stopped after transferring to AUPP in her junior year.

Her favorite subjects are AP Computer Science Principles and AP Human Geography because they introduced her to new skills and concepts that she finds genuinely interesting. The most challenging assignment for her has been the Research Capstone paper, as it is extremely tedious and requires significant focus and mental effort. She believes Physics and Human Geography best prepare her for life after high school since they are directly related to her chosen university major.

Outside of school, Rothrena has represented the school in ISSAPP volleyball and has explored many creative hobbies over the years, including painting, sketching, drawing, clay sculpting, and DIY projects. Her most memorable experience at AUPPHS-FA has been bonding with the Stallions girls through volleyball.

After graduating from AUPPHS-FA, Rothrena plans to dedicate the next eight years of her life to becoming an architect. Her advice to juniors at AUPPHS-FA: “Take school seriously enough to stay on top of your grades, but not so seriously that you forget to enjoy your last years as a teenager.”
