AUPP Primary School: Primary Program

AUPP Primary School is a school that is dedicated to developing young minds to reach unparalleled heights of intelligence, creativity, and social responsibility. It aims to create a generation of thinkers, innovators, and responsible citizens who are prepared to contribute meaningfully to society. AUPP Primary School’s curriculum aligns with American standards and incorporates modern educational practices to ensure students excel academically. By adopting a curriculum and teaching methodologies that are both innovative and effective, AUPP Primary School ensures that its students are not just well-prepared for their academic careers but are also equipped to thrive in life beyond school.

Outcome-Based Education: A Path to Clarity and Purpose

The school adopts Outcome-based education (OBE) as a foundational principle. This approach focuses on what students are expected to learn and achieve by the end of their educational journey. It shifts the educational focus from the traditional teaching-centric model to a learning-centric model, where the primary goal is the mastery of clearly defined learning outcomes. This ensures that every lesson, activity, and assessment is designed with the end goal in mind, enabling students to accumulate knowledge and skills that are both valuable and relevant.

In tandem with OBE, the school emphasizes Competency-based learning, which ensures that students acquire knowledge and develop the skills and abilities essential for success in the 21st century. This approach allows students to progress at their own pace once they have demonstrated competency mastery. It fosters a learning environment focused on achieving high standards and applying knowledge in real-world contexts.

Competency-Based Learning: Empowering Students with Essential Skills

AUPP Primary School further distinguishes by adopting a Concept-based curriculum, teaching, and learning. This innovative approach goes beyond rote memorization, encouraging students to grasp and engage with a subject’s underlying principles and concepts. It fosters critical thinking, deep understanding, and the ability to transfer knowledge across different contexts and disciplines. Students develop a more profound and integrated understanding of their studies by focusing on concepts, laying a solid foundation for lifelong learning and intellectual curiosity.

A Bilingual Foundation for Global Citizens

To ensure that students are well-prepared for the seamless transition to the English curriculum starting in grade 7, the curriculum is delivered primarily in English. However, recognizing the importance of preserving the Cambodian culture, AUPP Primary School also incorporates a strong Khmer language program. This dual-language approach ensures that students are truly global citizens.
