Senior Student Highlight: Voeung Pichneary

Voeung Pichneary  (Academic Year 2025-2026) – Stressful, abrupt, fun

Favorite Quote: “The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” -Lao Tzu

An interesting fact about Neary is that she enjoys collecting old banknotes. In her free time, she likes watching shows and dramas.

Her favorite subject is Macroeconomics because it helped her understand how the world works, not only in terms of economics and money, but also the psychology and behavior of people when global events occur. One of the most challenging experiences for her was preparing for the AP exams, a period of immense pressure since it was her first time taking them and she was unsure of the outcome. She believes Macroeconomics will prepare her the most for life after high school because it inspired her to pursue a major in finance.

Outside of school, Neary has participated in community service activities, which helped her discover the joy and purpose of working together to support others. These experiences also reminded her that even the small things in life can make a meaningful difference. One of her most memorable moments at AUPPHS-FA was going on a field trip to Safari World and watching the animals with her friends.

After graduating from AUPPHS-FA, Neary plans to attend university, possibly in China or Australia, where she hopes to major in Finance or Accounting. Her advice to juniors at AUPPHS-FA: “You are allowed to hate or not like a specific class, maybe it’s because you are bad at it or it doesn’t benefit you in any way in the future. But still, you should try your best, so that you don’t leave any regrets.”
