Touch Chethamoni (Academic Year 2025-2026) – Adventurous, Bittersweet and unforgettable
Favorite Quote: “Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.”- Dr. Seuss
An interesting fact about Chethamoni is that once he gets to know someone, he becomes very talkative and energetic. He also loves learning new sports and constantly challenges himself by trying new activities.
His favorite subject is English because the teachers were fun, friendly, and always made class both enjoyable and educational. They created a genuinely positive learning environment, and he especially wants to give a shoutout to Mr. Dennis for making every lesson engaging and entertaining.
The most challenging assignment for him was the SMS STEM Project in Grade 10, where he and his team built a soil moisture sensor. The project was difficult because they faced multiple programming failures and frequent team disagreements. Despite the setbacks, they continued troubleshooting, resolved their issues, and eventually succeeded placing 3rd overall.
He believes AP Statistics prepared him the most for life after high school. The class taught him that sometimes you have to fail before realizing what you are truly capable of. Hitting rock bottom can be the moment that forces you to regroup and push yourself harder. Statistics was one of the toughest subjects he has taken, but it strengthened his discipline, patience, and resilience qualities he knows will help him face even greater challenges in the future.
Outside of school, Chethamoni has been heavily involved in extracurricular activities. He regularly plays golf, badminton, volleyball, cycling, padel, and pickleball, dedicating significant time to training. He also started his own business called “Catch Athletics,” where he organized and hosted tournaments. This experience allowed him to build a community beyond school and grow personally and professionally.
One of his most memorable experiences at AUPPHS-FA was his entire Grade 10 year. It was his first year at the school, and the friendships, adventures, and shared moments made it unforgettable. Although switching classes later was bittersweet, Grade 10 remains his favorite academic year it felt long at the time but now seems to have passed far too quickly.
After graduating from AUPPHS-FA, Chethamoni plans to take a long vacation and travel with friends and family before beginning the next chapter of his life. He hopes to move to Singapore to continue his studies and build a future filled with new opportunities and experiences. And who knows maybe one day he’ll even go professional in badminton or golf.
His advice to juniors at AUPPHS-FA: “Enjoy the moments while you have them. High school only gets harder, and life gradually pulls people in different directions. The friends beside you today might not be there next year. So take every chance to go out, have fun, and create memories now, because these moments won’t always be this easy to make again.”
