Soboramey Seng (Academic Year 2024-2025) – Bittersweet, Memorable, Growth
Favorite Quote: ” Sometimes your journey feels heavier because your purpose reaches higher.”
An interesting fact about Soboramey is that she quietly observes people and finds comfort in things that reflect who she is. Whether it’s a character who feels familiar, a lyric that resonates, or an aesthetic that speaks to her, those little things help her feel seen.
Her favorite subject is Khmer History because she loves learning about where we come from—our culture, our leaders, and how the past continues to shape the present. The most challenging class for her was Research, since it required her to design her own data, gather results, and ensure accuracy. She believes Research has prepared her the most for life after high school by teaching her to think critically, manage her time, and work independently—skills that are essential for college.
Beyond academics, Soboramey has run in-person workshops where she volunteered to teach underprivileged middle school students about technology. This opportunity was especially meaningful as it allowed her to share what she had learned. Her favorite memories at AUPPHS-FA include school trips, after-school chats, and even mini hotpot picnics with friends right on campus.
After graduation, Soboramey hopes to pursue higher education in Computer Science and Business. She also wants to combine creativity with business, exploring fashion and styling as a side hustle.
Her advice to juniors at AUPPHS-FA: “Enjoy your high school experience while you still can, experience new things and don’t hold yourself back. Then, when you look back, you will have memories to be proud of with non regrets.”
