Senior Student Highlight: Phom Sokheng

Phom Sokheng  (Academic Year 2025-2026) – Draining, bittersweet, and adventurous

Favorite Quote: “Nothing defines you more than the choices you choose to make each day.”

An interesting fact about Sokheng is that she’s not as mean as she looks and she can definitely do a pull-up without assistance.

Her favorite subject is Microeconomics because she thinks of it as common sense explained through more complex wording and logic. She also appreciates having Mr. Radley as her teacher, as he makes the class even more enjoyable. The most challenging assignment for her was Research, which required significant time, effort, and focus. She believes English is especially important for life after high school because it allows her to communicate with people from around the world.

Outside of school, Sokheng interned as an assistant Pilates instructor. One of her most memorable experiences at AUPPHS-FA was having lunch with friends and trying new snacks together.

After graduating from AUPPHS-FA, Sokheng plans to continue her studies. Her advice to juniors at AUPPHS-FA: “To face your fears until it no longer owns you. Work hard, have fun. Academic probation isn’t cute.”
