Senior Student Highlight: Ouk Sereyvatanak

Ouk Sereyvatanak (Academic Year 2025-2026) – Could’ve been worse.
Favorite Quote: “It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop.” – Confucius.

An interesting fact about Sereyvatanak is that he enjoys going outside, sleeping, listening to music, eating good food, and playing games with friends.

His favorite subject this school year is AP Calculus, though his all-time favorite is AP Computer Science Principles. The most challenging project for him was the AP Research Capstone paper, as it required deep thinking and careful organization. He often struggled with structuring his work and sometimes restarted entirely when he wasn’t satisfied with his writing. He believes AP Calculus, AP Physics, AP Computer Science Principles, and AP Microeconomics are the subjects that will prepare him best for life after high school. From AP Calculus and AP Physics, he learned how to apply formulas and solve complex problems, while AP Computer Science Principles and AP Microeconomics helped him better understand the internet and the economy, knowledge that could be valuable for his future career.

Outside of school, Sereyvatanak works on newsletters as part of the Newsletter Club and plays volleyball with the Volleyball Club. He also participates in community service activities and helps his mom and sister run their coffee shop. At home, he spends time making music or editing videos for income. His favorite memories at AUPPHS-FA include hanging out on the third floor, chatting with friends outside of class time, and especially going on school trips.

After graduating from AUPPHS-FA, he plans to work abroad and live a peaceful life. His advice to juniors at AUPPHS-FA is: “Move forward. Never look back. You’re here for yourself, not anyone else. Don’t judge, don’t overthink, stay out of trouble, and most importantly, have fun!”
