Nuth Chansomphors (Academic Year 2025-2026) – nostalgic, busy and memorable
Favorite Quote: ” You can do anything you want, you are bound by nothing.” -Robin Williams
An interesting fact about Somphors is that before enrolling at AUPPHS-FA, she was a competitive swimmer at her previous school, and she enjoys baking in her free time.
Her favorite subject is AP Microeconomics because Mr. Radley made the class consistently engaging, and the subject challenged her to think more critically about how the world works. The most challenging assignment for Somphors is Research, as it required a great deal of independence and critical thinking. She had to sort through numerous sources, determine what was actually useful, and stay organized even when she couldn’t find answers right away. It pushed her to form her own ideas, evaluate evidence, and manage her time more effectively. She believes the subjects that will prepare her most for life after high school are Macroeconomics and Microeconomics because they align with what she hopes to study at university.
Outside of school, Somphors joined both the Volleyball and Badminton clubs, and she represented the school in competitive volleyball. In addition, she participated in charity-driven tournaments and ran marathons to support community service initiatives. Her most memorable moments at AUPPHS-FA are the friendships she built and winning the ISSAPP B Division Volleyball Championship.
After graduating from AUPPHS-FA, Somphors plans to spend the summer with her family and friends before moving abroad to continue her studies abroad. Her advice to juniors at AUPPHS-FA: “Make the most of every moment, because no matter how slow time may feel, it always ends up passing faster than you expect.”
