Mok Channatalyn (Academic Year 2025-2026) – Ethereal, Nostalgic, Challenging.
Favorite Quote: “To thine own self, be true” – William Shakespeare
An interesting fact about Channatalyn is that she really loves tofu. She attended her first-ever MUN conference in Japan, lived in Australia for a few years before moving back to Cambodia, and her 13-year-old brother with Down syndrome is her best friend. Her first language was English, and she is completely obsessed with anything vanilla.
She enjoys AP Macroeconomics, AP Human Geography, and Research because these subjects helped her develop real-world insights into global issues. She believes they will strongly support her future studies and career path. The most challenging assignment for her was the Research Capstone project because it pushed her to think creatively and build a strong structure for her paper. She especially values AP Human Geography because she aspires to work with organizations that help improve communities and create meaningful change.
Outside of academics, Channatalyn is part of a volleyball team and also enjoys practicing guitar. Her most memorable moments at AUPPHS-FA include spending time with her peers, creating newspapers with her club members, and playing volleyball with “the coolest girls ever.”
After graduation, she plans to spend as much time as possible with her family before moving to Wellington, New Zealand, where she hopes to pursue a stable and fulfilling career.
Her advice to juniors at AUPPHS-FA: “Every mistake you’ve made, every lesson you’ve learned is part of self-improvement, not an opportunity for you to doubt yourself.”
