Chou Chansophea (Academic Year 2025-2026) – Heartwarming, Memorable, Challenging
Favorite Quote: ” Fear is temporary, regret lasts forever.”
An interesting fact about Sophea is that she loves collecting memories from everyday life, whether it’s hanging out with friends, going on little adventures, or simply trying new things together. She believes the best stories don’t always come from big events or achievements, but from the small, fun moments that make life feel special.
Her favorite subject is Macroeconomics. At first, she found it very challenging because the graphs and concepts were completely new to her. However, as she continued learning and practicing, everything started to make more sense. The more she progressed, the more confident she became, and she really enjoyed seeing her understanding grow. The most challenging assignment for her was the Research Capstone, as she struggled with structuring her ideas and found the writing process long and overwhelming. Despite this, it pushed her out of her comfort zone and helped her grow as both a writer and a student. She believes that Microeconomics and Macroeconomics will prepare her the most for life after high school, as she plans to pursue a career in the business field, making these subjects especially relevant to her future.
Outside of school, Sophea participated in various extracurricular and community activities. She enjoyed joining marathons and volunteering at community service events, which helped her stay active while giving back. She was also a member of the music club, where she explored her interests and connected with others. Most importantly, spending time with her friends through these activities made the experience even more meaningful.
Her most memorable moments at AUPPHS-FA include participating in the exchange program in Japan with her best friend. Traveling together, experiencing a new culture, and meeting new people made it truly unforgettable. Another special memory was going out for lunch with her friends almost every day after school, trying new restaurants, sharing good food, and enjoying each other’s company. These simple moments became some of her most treasured memories.
After graduating from AUPPHS-FA, Sophea hopes to be accepted into one of the universities she applied to and pursue a degree in business, while continuing to stay in touch with her friends. Her advice to juniors at AUPPHS-FA: “A valuable lesson I learned this year, and something I’d like to share with my juniors, is to really cherish the moments you have right now. High school goes by faster than you expect, and it’s easy to overlook the small things until they become memories. Appreciate the people around you, enjoy the experiences you get, and don’t take any moment for granted.”
