Chang Fen Jung (Academic Year 2025-2026) – Fruitful, Crucial, Culminating
Favorite Quote: “The best way to predict the future is to create it.” — Peter Drucker
An interesting fact about Fenjung is that he can count the number of times he has gone out with friends on just two hands.
His favorite subject is Microeconomics because it is unique; understanding how people make decisions and how systems function in real-life situations fascinates him and sparks a deeper interest in how the world operates. The most challenging assignment for Fenjung is the Research Capstone Project because it highlights the demands of academic writing, pushing him to analyze existing literature in depth and go beyond basic comprehension. It also requires him to plan carefully, structure his work effectively, and present his findings in a high-level academic format. He believes the subject that will prepare him most for life after high school is Research because pursuing higher education, such as university, requires continuous effort in writing reports, essays, and research papers.
Outside of school, Fenjung has participated in community service activities, notably helping clean up the banks of the Mekong River, which were filled with plastic waste. He also swims regularly for exercise and occasionally helps his parents take care of their orchard, including coconut and mango trees. His most memorable moment at AUPPHS-FA was working together with his classmates to decorate their classroom for Christmas, sharing a common goal of winning the school’s Christmas door competition as Class 11A.
After graduating from AUPPHS-FA, Fenjung plans to pursue either a medical or engineering degree at a university in Taiwan. However, he remains open to studying elsewhere if circumstances change. His advice to juniors at AUPPHS-FA: “As you navigate through high school, expressing respect is an important part of your character. Make it a habit to treat others with dignity and approach every new situation with an open mind. Cultivate this way, you will foster personal growth and create a more positive path forward for yourself and those around you.”
