Starting in the fall of 2023, AUPP High School-Foxcroft Academy (AUPPHS-FA) will expand its curriculum to includes grades 7 and 8. We see this as a great opportunity to build on our mission of offering a “quality American style education that is grounded in the culture of Cambodia and Asia”. Our pursuit remains consistent with that of the high school in preparing students for the ever-changing post-modern world. We believe to accomplish this requires a mixture of rigorous academics, multi-cultural understanding, embracing yet questioning the social changes prompted by modernity, and sustaining moral and ethical values. Starting students on this path earlier in their academic career will effectuate appreciable benefits.
Curriculum
Referring to students in grades 7 and 8 as “Middle Schooler’s” simply reflects their age and academic level. At this stage of development, basic skills remain the focus of their education so that when they enter high school, they are well prepared for the transition to advanced “critical thinking”. In other words, the academics associated with grades 7 and 8 lay a foundation for the students to draw upon as they progress through the more rigorous course work one expects of a college-preparatory high school curriculum. With this in mind, the following courses are what can be expected of middle school students at AUPP.
