Sam Vannviriya (Academic Year 2025-2026) – Chaotic, Exhausting, Unforgettable
Favorite Quote: “Carpe diem” – Quintus Horatius Flaccus
An interesting fact about Viriya is that she loves learning about new things—even the most random topics. She believes that if something captures her attention, that fascination will stay with her. Another interesting fact is that she enjoys watching movies, especially older ones with meaningful messages.
Her favorite subjects are Microeconomics and Macroeconomics because they help her understand how the world works. Both subjects feel practical and relevant to real life, which makes them enjoyable for her to study. The most challenging assignment for Viriya is AP Research because it requires a significant amount of work, constant revision, and strong critical thinking skills. It has taught her to stay prepared, think clearly, and manage her responsibilities effectively. She believes the subjects that will prepare her most for life after high school are AP Microeconomics and AP Calculus because they involve problem-solving, logical thinking, and applying mathematical concepts to real-world situations.
Outside of school, Viriya has participated in extracurricular activities such as community service and helping with family responsibilities. These experiences have taught her responsibility and time management. Her most memorable moments at AUPPHS-FA are the small, everyday experiences with her friends—laughing during breaks, sharing inside jokes, and enjoying the simple moments when everyone was happy just being together. After graduating from AUPPHS-FA, Viriya plans to continue her education, explore her interests, and grow into the person she aspires to be. Her advice to juniors at AUPPHS-FA: “Even when high school feels stressful, don’t forget to enjoy the moments and have fun.”
