Senior Student Highlight: Tan Chhaymeng

Tan Chhaymeng (Academic Year 2025-2026) – Tiresome, Exciting, and Fun

Favorite Quote: “We are not makers of history. We are made by history.” – Martin Luther King Jr.

An interesting fact about him is that he likes sharks, especially whale sharks.

His favorite subjects are Physics, Mathematics, and Research because he finds them all interesting. Physics and Mathematics are present in everyday life, while Research allows him to dig deeper and better understand the world. The most challenging assignment for Chhaymeng was the Macroeconomics end-of-year project due to the limited information available on his chosen topic. He believes the subjects that will prepare him most for life after high school are Physics, Calculus, and Research because they will be essential for his future career, especially as he plans to study aviation, more specifically, Aviation Management at university.

Outside of school, Chhaymeng has been actively involved in various activities, including Student Council from Grades 9–10, the Homework Help Club in Grade 11, starting a business with a friend overseas, and participating in community service at ASEFIP, among others. His most memorable moment at AUPPHS-FA was spending time with his friends in Grade 9. After graduating from AUPPHS-FA, Chhaymeng plans to attend university in Malaysia and work his way toward his goals. His advice to juniors at AUPPHS-FA: “Every mistake is a step toward improvement, learn from them, and you will successful.”
