Rattanakboth Bunchhoeun (Academic Year 2025-2026) – Legendary, Productive, Unforgettable
Favorite Quote: “1% is still a chance.” It reminds me that no matter how small the possibility is, it’s never zero. As long as there is even the slightest chance, I believe in giving my full effort. This mindset keeps me motivated, helps me stay hopeful during challenges, and pushes me to keep trying instead of giving up
An interesting fact about him is that he genuinely enjoys spending time with his baby cousins—they always bring him joy and help him feel more connected to his family. He also loves exploring and building robots, as experimenting with technology motivates him and allows him to be creative. In addition, he enjoys watching sports, especially football and Formula 1, which inspire him with their teamwork, strategy, and speed.
His favorite subject is AP Calculus because he enjoys the challenge of solving equations and pushing himself to understand deeper mathematical concepts. The most challenging subject for Rattanakboth is AP Physics, as it requires a great deal of critical thinking and a strong understanding of how different formulas work together. This has pushed him to study harder and think more logically. He believes that AP Physics will prepare him the most for life after high school because he plans to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering, and the subject provides a strong foundation for his future path.
Outside of school, Rattanakboth has been actively involved in extracurricular activities, particularly participating in the World Robotics Olympiad 2024 in Turkey and WRO 2025 in Singapore. He also played on his school’s volleyball and football teams, which helped him stay active and develop teamwork skills. His most memorable moment at AUPPHS-FA was the Grade 11 school trip, where everyone bonded, built new friendships, and created unforgettable memories. Another moment he truly enjoyed was when the school was decorated for Christmas, the lights, colors, and festive atmosphere made the campus feel warm and exciting. These shared experiences made school feel special in a way that still stays with him. After graduating from AUPPHS-FA, Rattanakboth plans to continue working toward his dream of becoming an engineer. His goal is to contribute to reshaping and improving his country’s future through engineering. His advice to juniors at AUPPHS-FA: “Good time management is essential. Balancing schoolwork and personal goals will help you stay organized and start planning early for college.”
