Sorady Det (Academic Year 2025-2026) – Sleep-deprived, panic, funny
Favorite Quote: “The only thing predictable about life is its unpredictability” – Ratatouille
An interesting fact about Sorady is that she is usually lazy, but when she becomes curious or needs to figure something out, she gets extremely focused and can work anywhere, anytime. Once that motivation is gone, however, she completely checks out.
Her favorite subjects are Microeconomics and Macroeconomics because they explain real-life decisions and provide a broader understanding of how the world works. Compared to other subjects, they feel logical, practical, and surprisingly interesting. The most challenging subject for Sorady is AP Research because it requires long-term planning, organization, and critical thinking. At times, managing everything at once could feel overwhelming, even causing late-night panic, but it also taught her to stay disciplined and trust her own ideas. She believes the subject that will prepare her the most for life after high school is Microeconomics because it develops logical thinking, decision-making skills, and a deeper understanding of the world beyond the classroom.
Outside of school, Sorady has been involved in community service activities and has participated in marathons, which have taught her responsibility, teamwork, and the satisfaction of making a difference. She also enjoys studying Chinese and spending time with friends during school events. Her most memorable moments at AUPPHS-FA include the random conversations and laughter with friends during breaks and in the classroom, as well as making new friends along the way. Those small moments made school feel vibrant and unforgettable.
After graduating from AUPPHS-FA, Sorady plans to pursue her dreams and make the next chapter of her life meaningful. She hopes to take chances, grow from her experiences, and enjoy the journey. Her advice to juniors at AUPPHS-FA is: “Do things you’ll laugh about later—not regret later.”
