An interesting fact about Sokyou is that she is a master procrastinator, she often waits until the very last second to start her work, but she always gets everything done because urgency is her biggest motivation.
Her favorite subject is Economics because it is the one subject she truly understands. It has helped her see how the world works and answered many of the questions she had growing up about business and decision-making. The most challenging assignment for her was the Research Project, as she found it frustrating when AI detectors flagged her original work, making it difficult to predict her results. Despite this, she believes Economics will prepare her the most for life after high school. As someone who can be indecisive, the subject helps her weigh pros and cons and make more logical decisions.
Outside of school, Sokyou volunteers in charity events, including marathons. Her most memorable moments at AUPPHS-FA include meeting new people and going through the intensity of AP exam season.
After graduating from AUPPHS-FA, Sokyou plans to attend university and eventually become a successful economist. Her advice to juniors at AUPPHS-FA: “Start everything early and don’t procrastinate.”
