Koung Dany Heng (Academic Year 2025-2026) – bittersweet, exciting, stressful

An interesting fact about Koungdany is that she loves outdoor and physical activities. She also says she needs to drink at least one cup of milk every day in order to function properly, and she is always ready to go on random side quests or spontaneous adventures.
Her favorite subjects are AP Macroeconomics and AP Microeconomics because they help her better understand how the world and the economy work, which she believes is important as she grows older. The most challenging subject for her has been AP Calculus, as it requires a lot of thinking and memorizing formulas. She believes AP Macroeconomics and AP Microeconomics prepare her most for life after high school because they provide fundamental knowledge about how economies and businesses operate, something she hopes will help her when she starts her own business in the future.
Outside of school, Koungdany enjoys playing basketball and helping her parents with their business. Some of her most memorable moments at AUPPHS-FA include playing basketball on the court with her teammates, decorating for school events with friends, and attending prom.
After graduating from AUPPHS-FA, Koungdany plans to study abroad and become successful in her career. Her advice to juniors at AUPPHS-FA: “You should have self-discipline and not let procrastination and laziness get to you.”
