Sovannroth Yem (Academic Year 2024-2025) – Fun, innovative, sad.
Favorite Quote: “Good students complete assignments before the due date; I chill till the deadline, but I’m still a good student as long as I finish on time><.”
An interesting fact about Sovannroth is that she’s known as the second loudest in class after Sovisak—and definitely one of the funniest!
Her favorite subject at AUPPHS-FA is AP Calculus. She admits she spent most of the early lessons doing nothing until Unit 6, when she realized she hadn’t really learned anything yet—but once she had a backup plan, she started to enjoy the subject more.
One of the most challenging subjects for her was the Research Capstone Project, which taught her how to be a more responsible and independent student. Even when she didn’t have a clear idea, she still pushed herself to communicate with teachers and classmates—something completely new to her.
She believes Software Development prepared her best for life after high school, as it teaches critical thinking, problem-solving, and technical skills essential in today’s tech-driven world.
Sovannroth’s most memorable moment at AUPPHS-FA? Singing Happy Birthday in every class—whether it was anyone’s birthday or not! She has also been actively involved in community service, volunteering, running marathons, and helping those in need.
After graduation, she plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Cambodia. Her advice to juniors: “Be more respectful to elders—especially teachers and cleaners.”
