You Salonich (Academic Year 2024-2025) – Unforgettable, bittersweet, transformative

An interesting about Salonich is that she is always juggling her love between music, sports and helping others. It does not matter if she is singing, dancing, playing basketball, volunteering for school events or contributing to charity drives, she is always looking for ways to make a positive impact and make connection with those around her. She truly enjoy bring friendly and supportive to her fellow students. Salonich enjoy studying Khmer History because she said it allows her to connect with rich culture and incredible achievement of Cambodia. The stories of resilience, like the creation of Angkor Wat and innovation in art and agriculture had fascinate her. Her most challenging assignments are those that involve in big research project that combined writing, data analysis and a presentation. This pushed her to learned to manage her time, stay organised and balance the pieces, she said it is tough but it have taught her valuable skills that helped her to grow as a students.

During her time as a student at AUPPHS-FA she havev been actively involved in extra-activities outside of school such as community service like going to provinces and donate supplies to pagoda and people in the village, and help out her family business by promoting her business online and come up with new ideas to take their business forward. Her most memorable time at AUPPHS-FA are the little moment with her friends laughing during breakfast and lunch, participating and volunteering in school events. She further mentioned that the little moment in class where everyone is engaging with the teacher and cracking jokes that related to the class topics, it is the little and simple things that made her school experience unforgettable.

Salonich said that English and Communicaion are the most helpful subject for her after highschool. She believed that it teaches you to express your idea clearly and to think critically, which are skills that matter in any career or situation as being able to communicate effectively is the key to success. Her plan after graduation is to get into a university and then start searching for internships while studying and volunteering for the community. An advised that she want to leave behind for juniors at AUPPHS-FA are to “stay true to yourself and find balance. School can feel like a race but it’s important to focus on what make you happy and learn from your mistakes along the way. Don’t rush or compare yourself to others growth in both good and tough moments. Take you time and enjoy the journey and moment.”
